fall cravings.
as most of you know...i love fall. i love this time of year. however, i thought living in new york city during the fall would be a pretty thing. i guess i forgot how much it lacks trees and other fall things. unless you're in central park of course, which i haven't been to in a while. i'm just craving a nice brisk walk in the woods, wine tours with close friends, and the leaves falling from the trees that i can walk on, on my way to work. new york doesn't give you any of that...and going away for a weekend is such a hassle (not to mention expensive). times like these i wish i had a car to get away - just for a weekend. i hate feeling trapped. like i can't get out...literally. even the apples don't taste like the fresh apples from shutz farms in rochester...how i miss it. alright, i'll stop complaining. what else does everyone like about fall? sorry i'm just so in love with it right now and feel i'm not getting enough to fill my inner needs. give me some fall lovin people...

Hannah,
I think Sean and I can definately understand where you are coming from. Seriously - last weekend we drove up to Mt. Diablo and on our way I saw a few trees lining the street and got excited because they changed color. I'm talking like maybe 3 or 4 trees.... And you know that is NOT what fall is like. Fall never comes to the bay area. If you want fall the best you can do is drive up north a few hours and near the Tahoe National Forest you might see a taste of fall. But they don't have the pumpkin festivals and the Maize mazes and the apple cider like they do back east. There's something about being at a festival where leaves are falling all around you. That smell... Mmmmmm that smell! :)
New York State is spoiled with 4 beautiful seasons. Those who don't appreciate it can suck it.
fall really is a beautiful time. Leaves changing, pumpkin pie and apple cider. nice walk on the trails. went to the maize maze the other day and it was a pefect day! I guess fall can be really beautiful. Still partial to the spring time though.
