oh ellsworth!

these works by ellsworth kelly were absolutely beautiful. their shape, their color, how they were displayed - everything. there were a total of four works, one on each wall around the room. it's amazing how such an incredible experience this can be...

This kind of art I don't understand. I saw a lot of this kind of work at the Pompidou in Paris, France. I may sound naive, but I am being honest - to me these are just blocks of color. I guess anything can be art, and I'm not saying these are not art, but what makes these so special? To me, I like art that stimulates me. I guess one or two colors on a wall doesn't do anything for me. I like to appreciate art, maybe you can help me understand why this should be appreciated. Just my thoughts :)

your reasons are legit. and you aren't the only one that feels this way. it's interesting how different art impacts different people. like to me, these stimulate me in a very strong way because i like minimal and conceptual art. with art like this, it's alot about the process and idea that produces the outcome of the actual piece. again, these pictures don't do these justice. and i think you might be surprised how beautiful they are in person. or maybe not. either way, i hope this helped even just a little:)
