i bring good news.

well everyone, i am officially done with roberts wesleyan college and i couldn't be happier. though my senior art show and graduation are still in sight, i won't need to go back until then. new york here i come. i am so not ready...

basically this week is going to be filled with last minuet christmas shopping (which i've never procrastinated on this much), alot of work (aiming for 55 hours between the 2 jobs) and look forward to my first snowboarding excursion of the winter next tuesday with my brother. hopefully this year will go a little bit smoother than last year's trip. well it didn't end out bad. i mean my brother did end up finding his wedding ring. he definitely lost it after i pulled over right before we got to holiday valley to throw more snow on my windshield (i was out of windshield wiper fluid:). well it fell off. in the cold snow. in the dirty cold snow. after hopelessly looking for it for 15 minutes, we decided to just go to the lifts and...well...try to have a good day. 11 o'clock rolls around we both couldn't stop thinking about it. so we went back 10 minutes down the road and looked some more. then of course i think of a brilliant idea - a metal detector! so we went to the hardware store to see if they had one. you figure spending 90 bucks on a metal detector is better than $1,000+ on a new ring...right? well...they didn't have one. we stopped at a few other places but no one had any. our last stop? the police station. they had one! yeah it was from 1960...and really dusty...it kinda looked like it should be on a space ship or something. but we bought batteries and it kinda worked. i mean it beeped when we held it up to my rings. we went back to where he lost it and - you'll never guess - we found it! but not with the metal detector. with the scuff of my feet on the snowy ground. I will never forget nathan running through the street in on-going traffic waiving the metal detector around. the rest of that day was perfect. and we had a good energy break. anyways...i hope this year brings us more memories, that don't have to do with platinum and snow.

have a great week everyone!

hold your horses people.

(what does that mean anyway?)
before everyone pee's their pants of excitement, i just need to warn you that this post is not going to be a long one, just a little update on my life. my hectic life that is...

- i've finished my internship but will still be working there until i leave for nyc.
- for those of you who don't know, i AM definitely goin to New York to study at the New York Center of Art and Media Studies from January 27-May 24. This opportunity doesn't even feel real...but I leave January 23 and plan on working my little buttocks off until then.
- i love living in a winter wonderland! i can't wait for my brother to come up so we can make our traditional holiday valley trip after christmas. love it people.
- i am in the middle (or just beginning actually) of my finals week and as of this morning have 1 class done - 3 more to go. thank you God for a finish to all things...
- i have barely any christmas shopping done and am probably gonna be out with all the guys last min the week before christmas. just to clarify my statement, last year i was in the mall on christmas eve and it was all men. to add to that, the line for the mall gift wrapping was a mile long - all men. now come on people. :side note: does everyone know how much i hate malls? and walmart? that's another blog for another day...
- overall, i really love the christmas season and it's true meaning. i love giving gifts. i love receiving gifts. and i love being with family and friends when it's snowing outside. make sure you make the best of this season and do something for someone you would never do. give a gift to someone whom you would never give. the season is so much more about giving. through the hecticness of the season, there is a joy and peace that is different. a joy that we should keep all year long...
- my last two comments of confession. i love christmas songs and have been officially addicted to coffee this year.
enjoy your week everyone...and enjoy the snow!
