i thought i would entertain you all with a bunch of photographs i took this past weekend. my sister was in town and we did so much. it was great to be out in nature during these last few days of summer. can you believe it? i'm really trying complete my "things to do in the summer" list before it's over. isn't it interesting how things come and go? how there is a time, place, and season for everything? call me boring...but the transitions of life are so interesting. just where it takes us i guess. anyways...i really do hope you enjoy these pictures. i must say i am happy with some of the beautiful moments i captured.
kayaking...in the hudson?
yes. it's quite fun! and free:) D and i did this and were complete dorks and even took a waterproof camera out in the water. we didn't go swimming silly...who wants to bring there digital cameras kayaking? i'll post pictures once we get them back if there are any good ones. now i know why my brother bought a kayak...it's so fun! and a good work out - bonus:)

6 months...and counting?
so i would like to inform everyone that as of yesterday, i officially had my one year anniversary for living in new york city. i still feel like i need to pinch myself every so offen because it still feels surreal. take today for instance:
it was such a beautiful day. i got off at 28th street to walk to work, glanced up in the cloud-filled sky and realized i was blocks from the empire state building. people come from thousands of miles to see this building, and here i am working 4 blocks from it - crazy. later in the day, i needed to leave work to run to city hall to get some documents signed and was blown away with this area of new york. the architecture was breathtaking and the landscape was so different and beautiful - i wish i had my camera. the sad part? i had never been there! i know it's only been 6 months, but there was some really interesting history in this part of town. once i have a free afternoon i want to go back and explore...with my camera of course.
anyways...like i said, i can't believe it's been 6 months. i've been really happy lately. even though i don't know how long i'm going to be here, i know this is where i'm supposed to be right now. i love knowing that i'm growing and experiencing amazing things in the process. i am so thankful for this opportunity in my life that only a few people get to experience. make the most out of your life my friends...don't take anything for granted. and don't let anyone influence you or take you away from your dreams. what are you waiting for anyway?

s-e-x-i-n-g c-a-s-i-o p-o-k-e
are those just non-sense words in descending numbers of letters? no silly. they're the lyrics of something hot. hot chip. hot hot chip. this electro/ disco/snarky english group knows how to work those beautiful casio and korg synthesizers. HMMMM. for as long as i've known them their rhythm, lyrics, and beats have been right on, but seeing them live was like cherries on top of ice cream. the show was on pier 17 overlooking the hudson for free - yet another reason why i love new york. the scene was hot and so was the weather, but it's really impossible to not get lost in their electronic rhythms. anyways...we are finally cooling down this weekend. as most of you know it's been riDICulously hot this week. in the 100's and unbearable actually. but i survived, and kicked off the weekend with a hot show. all these hot things i'm experiencing i just can't handle it. looks like that's the word on the street these days.
